It’s the End of the Words as We Know It.

Some of our greatest strengths are also our most persistent saboteurs.

Excitement and anxiety ride the same current. Care becomes control.
And for me—being true to my word can sometimes harden into a dogged rigidity, an insistence on honoring commitments even when the circumstances have clearly shifted.

Reader ,maybe you've felt that too.

That’s the shadow side of commitment—and this moment craves more light.

I started this newsletter in 2016, sending out enthusiastic emails on breathwork and anatomy to a small group of colleagues BCC’d from my Gmail account. It was a quiet side project—sporadic, sincere, and deeply personal. A way to share what inspired me as I grew into my role as a Gyrotonic Master Trainer and continued expanding my perspective on the body and how we move.

Then came March 22, 2020.
The world stopped. And this list became a lifeline.

From that day forward, you received an email from me almost every Sunday morning. Rain or shine. From time zones near and far. Week after week, those missives arrived in your inbox at 6 AM PST—each one a blend of movement musings, nervous system insights, reflections on our communal state of being, and a free video or tool to help you reconnect with your body.

The practice of writing these letters became a kind of spiritual discipline.
They nourished the writer in me—the part I left behind in my 20s when I chose movement and design over journalism.
These emails wove my love of words back into my professional life and gave shape to something new.

They’ve held muscle maps and mental meanderings, practical tools and philosophical detours—usually with a free video attached.

But lately, something’s shifted.

The online world feels different. The digital noise has grown louder. And I’ve found myself craving less screen time and more skin time—real conversations, real contact, real Saturdays with my kids.

Every newsletter takes me 6 to 8 hours to create. I start sketching them out mid-week, film and upload on Thursday or Friday, and then spend what should be my Friday night glued to the screen—typing, editing, formatting—often working straight through until 2 or 4 AM on Saturday.

By the time I hit “send,” my hips are tight, my eyes are dry, and I still don’t know if the reading glasses I started needing in 2023 were just a natural part of aging—or a consequence of staring into an LCD glow for five years straight.

It’s a beautiful process. But it leaves a mark.

So I’m giving myself permission to pause.

To let go of the ritual.
To make space for something else to emerge.

This is not the end of our connection Reader - just a change in tempo.
You’ll still hear from me: when I have something to share, when a new class or offering feels alive, or when I just can’t
not tell you about the thing I’m learning.
But I’m letting go of the Sunday morning clock.

And I’m also hitting pause on online classes for a while.

But before I go, there’s one last workshop.
One last chance to gather in the virtual space we’ve shared for years.

And Reader ,if this workshop speaks to you I'd love to see you there.

Read time: 5–6 minutes A story of communal loss of focus Why movement is the antidote to mental chaos The healing power of group movement Two chances to show up live this July I came to while striding through my kitchen. A dirty coffee cup in one hand, the other holding a single sneaker and my cellphone—still open to an Atlantic article that had caught my eye in the news feed. Abruptly back in my body, I had no idea where I was headed or what I planned to do, but it was clear that the hour...

Do you ever have those fleeting moments where it feels like you are living outside of space and time? When you’re lost in creative flow, or consumed by a passion project? Or even just as you wake up in the morning Reader —suspended in the strange in-between, your dream-self dissolving as the aches of your body and the weight of the world settle in. How many times have you wished you could live in an alternate timeline? One where your body didn’t hurt, where circumstances unfolded differently,...

There are moments—like this week—when the world feels like too much. You open the news and it hits before you can brace: airstrikes. university occupations. protest crackdowns. leaders falling. systems unraveling. And yet somehow, you’re still expected to reply to emails, make dinner, smile at strangers in the grocery store. The body knows something is wrong, even when we keep moving through our day. This past Saturday, just 90 minutes before teaching The Source Awakens, I was out walking my...
